The Malvern Hills offers you plenty to explore. It’s not just the walking, but cute little towns, messing about on rivers, forest trails, castles, music festivals, cider making, pottery, the list goes on.
Upsticks is set in the Malvern Hills. This area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) offers not only the hills, but three majestic rivers ~ The Wye, Avon and Severn with miles of woods to explore in the Forest of Dean nearby. There are stunning gardens, castles, cathedrals, As well as many music and other festivals to enjoy.
Explore Local places to visit
Ledbury Offers a great independent high street, with little alleys to explore and some lovely places to eat. Head out on the Hereford Road to find The Nest, with a wonderful deli and nursery to explore. The Verzons, is just opposite, and offers great food and cocktails. Towards Much Marcle you’ll find Westons Cider which offers great tours. On the way pop into Eastnor Pottery to learn to throw a pot or Eastnor castle which boasts a maze and lovely gardens as well as the Deer park.
Explore Local towns to visit
Upton-Upon-Severn – is the home for many music festivals, from blues, folk, pop and jazz. Its beautiful setting by the river makes it a great little destination for a stroll and a pint, or visit Clive’s Fruit Farm which has a lovely deli, cafe and summer fruit picking.
Cheltenham Not only the home of horse racing’s Gold Cup, but also a host of festivals including the Literature festival, jazz, music, science and many more.
Explore Local farm parks
Farm parks – Locally there are a few farm parks including Newbridge, especially good for little ones, further afield is Little Owl, or Cotswold farm park. For larger animals head for West Midlands Safari park.
Parks and gardens – There are a few parks in Malvern, Priory park, has an amazing new kids play area too. Nearby Croome is a national trust property with wonderful landscaped gardens to explore.
